Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A retention mechanism for a vehicle wheel assembly is provided to obtain improved and alternative mechanism and structure primarily at the inboard end of the spindle for providing clutch ring engagement and preloading and maintenance of the preload of the bearings. CONSTITUTION: A wheel end assembly includes a live spindle(56) secured to a wheel hub(46) at an outboard end. A bearing(54) surrounds the spindle and is abutted against a shoulder on the spindle. The bearing is preloaded by a retention structure that slidably engages the bearing to compress the bearing against the shoulder. A clutch ring slidably engages splines associated with the live spindle and with an axle(32) portion to connect and disconnect the axle to the live spindle and accordingly the wheel hub. 휠 단부 조립체는 아웃보드 단부에서 휠 허브에 고정된 스핀들을 포함한다. 베어링은 스핀들을 둘러싸고 스핀들상에 숄더와 접촉한다. 상기 베어링은 숄더와 대향하는 베어링을 압축시키도록 베어링과 슬라이드가능하게 맞물려지는 보유 구조체에 의해 프리로드되어진다. 클러치 링은 차축부가 라이브 스핀들과 차축을 결합 및 분리하는 것에 의해 휠 허브와 결합 및 분리되도록 라이브 스핀들에 협력되는 스플라인과 슬라이드가능하게 맞물려진다.
