Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A backward supplemental channel assigning method of a CDMA communication system is provided to heighten an efficiency of a network resource by effectively operating an R-SCH channel in a backward link when a base station subsystem assigns a backward supplemental channel according to a request from a terminal. CONSTITUTION: When a terminal transmits an SCRM(Supplemental Channel Request Message), a base station subsystem receives the SCRM(412). The base station subsystem computes an available channel capacity on the basis of the information contained in the received SCRM and radio state and channel occupancy state of the current cell and determines whether an R-SCH request is to be accepted(414). If a backward supplementary channel is available for assignment, the base station subsystem determines assignment of the R-SCH in such a manner that if a transmission rate of the backward supplemental channel requested by the terminal is lower than an available channel capacity or if the currently used channel occupancy is lower than a channel capacity threshold value, the base station subsystem assigns a channel for a service of the transmission rate as requested by the terminal(416-418). If channels are enough to be assigned, the base station subsystem assigns as many as requested by the terminal according to the R-SCH request amount(420). If channels are not enough to be assigned, the base station subsystem assigns less channels than the R-SCH amount requested by the terminal(422). The base station subsystem generates ESCAM(Extended Supplemental Channel Assignment Message) containing information of the assigned backward supplemental channel and informs the terminal of it(424). 이동통신 시스템의 기지국이 역방향 부가채널을 할당하는 방법이, 단말기에서 채널 할당 요구시, 사용 가능한 채널의 용량 R을 구하는 과정과, 사용가능한 채널 용량R과 예비채널 용량을 비교하여 부가채널 할당의 수락 여부를 결정하는 과정과, 부가채널의 할당을 수락할 시 사용가능한 채널용량R과 상기 단말기가 요구한 부가채널의 전송율 R을 비교하고, 현재 사용중인 채널 점유도 R와 채널용량 기준값 R을 비교하는 과정과, R이 R보다 크고 R이 R보다 크면 요구된 전송율의 부가채널을 할당하고, 위의 두 비교 값들 중의 어느 하나라도 작으면 요구된 전송율 보다 낮은 전송율의 부가채널을 할당하는 과정과, 할당된 부가채널의 정보를 포함하는 부가채널 할당 메시지를 생성하여 단말기에 전송하는 과정으로 이루어진다.
