Composition Comprising Xanthium strumarium L. Extract for Use in Preventing and Treating Cataract and Method for Preparation Thereof

PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for preventing and treating cataract using Xanthii fructus extract. The Xanthii fructus extract suppresses the development of cataract and has excellent therapeutic effect on cataract. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating cataract contains Xanthii fructus extract, pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient or diluent and is formulated as tablet, capsule, suspension, syrup, drink, injection and the like. The Xanthii fructus extract is manufactured by the steps of: pulverizing dried Xanthii fructus into powder and adding organic solvent thereto to dissolve fat-substance; removing the organic solvent therefrom and followed by extracting the powder with water and filtering it; saturating filtrate under high pressure and removing coagulated proteins; adding organic solvent to the filtrate to remove soluble material; separating water layer therefrom then drying it. Wherein, organic solvent can chloroform or hexane. 본 발명은 창이자 추출물에 관한 것으로, 창이자를 건조시켜 분쇄한 후 유기 용매로 지방분을 제거하고, 여액을 물로 추출한다. 수추출물을 여과하고 단백질을 응고시켜 제거하고 다시 유기 용매로 가하여 유기용매에 가용성인 물질을 제거함으로써 본 발명의 추출물을 얻는다. 본 발명에 따른 창이자 추출물은 백내장의 예방 및 치료에 효과가 있다.
