Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) element having controlled storage capacitance is provided to inhibit occurrence of flickering or brightness gradation by reducing the wiring capacitance of gate lines or drain lines. CONSTITUTION: An LCD element includes a pair of substrates(SUB1), an LC layer switched between the substrates, gate lines(GL) and drain lines(DL) disposed to intersect the gate lines disposed on one of the substrates, TFTs disposed at the intersections of the gate and drain lines, pixel electrodes(ITO1) disposed in an area surrounded by two adjacent gate lines and two adjacent drain lines, and a common electrode disposed on the other substrate. The LCD element is also provided with storage lines(STL) disposed below the pixel electrodes with an insulating layer interposed therebetween to form a capacitance. Each of the pixel electrodes is formed with an aperture(ALC) in a portion facing the storage lines. The storage capacitance is controlled by a storage line by forming the aperture on the pixel electrode.
