Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: Provided is a phenyl propionate derivative produced in the presence of magnesium, which can be used as a propionic acid-based analgesic agent or an intermediate thereof. CONSTITUTION: The phenyl propionate derivative represented by the formula 1 is produced by reacting a compound represented by the formula 2 and a compound represented by the formula 3 in an organic solvent such as ethyl ether, isopropyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, or cyclohexane in the presence of the magnesium at a temperature of -30 to 100deg.C for 1 to 7 hours. In the formula, R is hydrogen or C1-C6 low alkyl and X is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, or iodine.
