METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MESSAGE TRANSMISSION IN SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for controlling message transmission in an SMS(Short Message Service) system is provided to prevent an overload in each mobile switching center, by setting a probability formula of a performance ratio of the mobile switching center, and determining whether a message has been transmitted with reference to the probability formula whenever the message is sent. CONSTITUTION: An SMS(Short Message Service) system prepares a message for instructing data process to the mobile switching center(201). The SMS system generates a random number that distinguishes messages to be processed from each other(202). The SMS system checks the performance of the mobile switching center(203). The SMS system applies a probability creation rule to determination of the massage transmission if there is a message to be transmitted(205). If the mobile switching center is not under a good status at present, the SMS system changes the current mobile switching center to another switching center, and then transmits a message to this new switching center(207,208).
