METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF LINEAR COMPRESSOR

PURPOSE: A control method of operation of a linear compressor is provided to easily manage a linear compressor by making possible single sale of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling operation of a linear compressor comprises the steps of: detecting stroke and speed of a compressor and phase of current supplied to a compressor; limiting compressor stroke in 18mm if the detected stroke, speed and current phase are less than first reference values; controlling stroke in 19mm or 20mm if the detected values are higher than the first reference values and less than second reference values or higher than the second reference values and less than third reference values; controlling stroke in 20mm if the detected values are higher than the third reference values; and exiting a zone where vibration occurs by controlling clearance between a piston top dead center of the compressor and a discharge valve if vibration occurs in stroke control. As independent control is possible, single sale of a compressor is possible. Therefore, management is easy.
