ROUTING TABLE REFERENCE DEVICE/METHOD USING INTERNET TRAFFIC FLOW CHARACTERISTIC

PURPOSE: A routing table reference device/method using an Internet traffic flow characteristic are provided to discriminate a flow maintained for a long time, and to search a routing table stored in a cache, which is a high-speed memory, so as to perform routing at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: A flow classifying unit(101) classifies inputted IP(Internet Protocol) packets according to flow states, using a traffic characteristic of the Internet. A flow state managing unit(102) stores the classified IP packets, and records transfer rates, bit transfer rates, and state information of duration of each flow. A routing reference unit(103) searches information on adjacent nodes in a routing table, to transfer each IP packet to destination addresses. A routing table managing unit(104) manages routing table entities corresponding to a long time flow, and routing table entities not corresponding to a long time flow, selected by the flow state managing unit(102). And a packet transfer unit(105) transfers packets to adjacent nodes, which are destination addresses, using routing information.
