Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a bright active matrix type liquid crystal display device of high image quality. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate 1, polycrystalline silicon layers for plural TFTs which are aligned and arranged on a matrix and are formed to an island shape thereon, gate insulating films 5 which are formed thereon, a plurality of scanning lines 15 which are formed thereon and extend along a row direction, a plurality of first signal lines 11a which are formed on the gate insulating films 5 and extend intermittently in a column direction in the regions evading the parts near the intersected parts with the scanning lines 15, interlayer insulating films 17 which are formed on the gate insulating films 5, plural first openings 31a which are formed thereon and expose the first signal lines 11a and plural second signal lines 11b which are formed on the interlayer insulating films 17 and form the continuous signal lines 11 in the column direction by connecting between the first signal lines 11a to each other via the first openings 31a.
