Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A device for receiving a digital signal and method thereof is provided to restore a desired signal rapidly by applying a decision-intention equalizing algorithm after applying a self-equalizing algorithm to speed up a capturing time of a frequency offset. CONSTITUTION: An equalizing part(20) initially operates by a self-equalizing algorithm and then by decision -intention equalizing algorithm. The equalizing part(20) compensates an amplitude distortion of a received signal by channel. An original signal decision part(22) decides the original signal from the compensated signal. A phase synchronization detecting part(24) operates after a predetermined times in initial equalizing step, detects a phase-error between the decided original signal and the received signal and compensates a frequency offset. A re-rotating part(26) outputs a sine wave un-compensated to the equalizing part. An equalizer coefficient updating part(28) receives the phase locked signal from the phase synchronization detecting part and the sine wave from re-rotating part. The equalizer coefficient updating part(28) generates an error for updating the coefficient and updates the coefficient in the basis of the error.
