Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A wideband optical fiber amplifier is provided to be capable of securing high amplification efficiency at a wavelength band of 1580nm. CONSTITUTION: The wideband optical fiber amplifier comprises a wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) optical coupler(22) which divides an optical signal with 1550nm and 1580nm wavelength bands into 1550nm and 1580nm wavelength bands. A C-EDFA(Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier)(32) amplifies an optical signal of the 1550nm wavelength band. L-EDFA(34) amplifies an optical signal of the 1580nm wavelength band. An optical circulator(30) forms an optical path so as to provide the L-EDFA(34) with backward amplified spontaneous emission caused at optical amplification of the C-EDFA(32).
