APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SECURING TRANSMISSION LINE TOLERANCE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for securing transmission line tolerance in the mobile communication system is provided to rapidly restore transmission line failure generated in a system exchanging data through a low-speed transmission line between a mobile communication base station and a base station controller. CONSTITUTION: A VP/VC control part(300) generates a transmission line selection signal to determine which transmission line to take to transmit input cells transmitted through a cell ID. A microprocessor I/F(600) interfaces various control signals to control all the function blocks from the external. An error detection part(500) checks the error generation status of E1/T1(700-720) transmission lines through line error signals. If an error is detected, the error detection part(500) controls a demultiplexer(400) according to a fixed procedure, based on error generation information. Cell FIFO memories(610-630) are in charge of a function to extend a time to restore an error in case that the error is generated in a transmission line. The E1/T1 blocks(710-730) carry out a function to map ATM cells on transmission lines.
