Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for stabilizing outputs corresponding to the number of channels of a wavelength-division multiplex fiber amplifier are provided which grasps the number of channels currently being used for transmission and controls the intensity of output optical signal based on the number of channels to instantaneously correspond to a variation in the number of channels, thereby stabilizing the output. CONSTITUTION: In a method for stabilizing outputs corresponding to the number of channels of a wavelength-division multiplex fiber amplifier, an optical signal is partially branched and branched optical signal is wavelength-division-demultiplexed by wavelength bands set for data channels to be outputted. This optical signal is analyzed to confirm the number of channel currently being used for transmission. Then, the intensity of output optical signal is controlled on the basis of the confirmed number of channels.
