METHOD OF CONTROLLING SPECIAL REPRODUCTION MODE ACCORDING TO DETECTING OF PROGRAM GRADE DATA

PURPOSE: A method of controlling a special reproduction mode according to detecting of program grade data is provided to prevent performing of a special reproduction mode during reproduction of a video signal in which the program grade data is added. CONSTITUTION: A method of controlling a special reproduction mode according to detecting of program grade data comprises the steps of: determining whether the program grade data is detected from an image signal reproduced in a general reproducing mode of an image signal recording/reproducing apparatus; and interrupting performing of a controlling operation corresponding to a special reproduction key order if the program grade data is detected and a special reproduction key order is input to a controlling portion of the image signal recording/reproducing apparatus. In the method, the special reproduction key order is a double speed reproduction key order, a slow reproduction key order or a steel key order. The controlling operation corresponding to the special reproduction key order is interrupted by a program for performing the general reproduction mode after storing a table of the special reproduction key order in a memory. The general reproducing mode is set to be necessarily performed for a desired time to detect the program grade data when an order for reproducing a recording medium is input.
