METHOD FOR SETTING UP LOGICAL ADDRESS SYSTEM AND APPLYING COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLFOR IMPLEMENTING HANDOFF BETWEEN MUTUALLY DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, AND HANDOFF METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for setting up a logical address system for implementing handoff between mutually different systems by applying a communication protocol, is provided to convert a logical address system of a frame regardless of systems into an address system used in a corresponding system in a switching center between systems. So that handoff success can be raised, and a load of message transceiving between switching centers for hard handoff between system boundaries can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: In an originating system to transmit a frame to a system having a different manufacturing type, a destination address of the frame is produced according to a logical address system and an originating address are produced according to a self address system. The frame are transmitted to an interface module for the originating system of a communication protocol transforming unit. The interface module for the originating system converts an address of the originating system in the originating address of the frame into the logical address system(503). The communication protocol transforming unit delivers the frame to the interface module for a destination system in order to deliver the frame to the destination system(504). The interface module for the destination system receiving the frame transforms an address by the logical address system in the destination address according to the address system of the destination system(505). The transformed frame is transmitted to a mobile switching center(MSC) of the destination system. The MSC transmits the frame to a traffic channel of a base station(BS) or a vocoder channel of a base station controller(BSC)(506).
