BLIND CHANNEL EQUALIZER

PURPOSE: A blind channel equalizer is provided to eliminate an inverse transformer for equalizing a blind channel and preventing a NTSC(national television system committee) interference signal, thereby simplifying a hardware structure thereof. CONSTITUTION: The blind channel equalizer comprises a comparator(210) for comparing a received symbol with a boundary level value determined a generation probability distribution of VSB(vestigial sideband) symbol level when driving a NTSC rejection filter, a blind coefficient assigning portion(220) for assigning one of three blind coefficients according to the result output from the comparator, and a subtracter(230) for subtracting the received symbol and the output result of the blind coefficient to output a blind error. In the equalizer, the coefficient assigning portion assigns one of the three blind coefficients of plus 10.5, 0, minus 10.5 responding to the VSB symbol level. The blind channel equalizer is applied to a channel equalizer when using a partial response in a data transmitting/receiving system.
