Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: A method for managing channel resources in a mobile communication system is provided to normally maintain service states of terminals with minimum channel resource changes, by changing traffic channels into overhead channels through dynamic functions when failures are generated in the overhead channels. CONSTITUTION: A base station of a mobile communication system generates databases for managing channels per frequencies or sectors, and initializes each of state information and data. A state of an overhead channel is periodically examined, to decide whether failures are generated in the overhead channel. If the failures are generated, the base station detects the failures in real time through a hardware alarm and a software alarm. If a normal operation is not performed caused by the failures, the base station manages the databases to set up a traffic channel which is not connected with a call. The base station changes a state of the traffic channel without initializing the traffic channel, to quickly operate the system with a dynamic overhead channel. Numbers of overhead channels are calculated per each channel card. A traffic channel of a channel card having a least overhead channel is changed into a dynamic overhead channel, to evenly allocate the overhead channels per each of the channel cards. Call services of terminals are normally maintained as having the normal dynamic overhead channels. |
