APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING CERAMIC PREFORM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for preparing a ceramic preform are provided, to obtain a ceramic preform in which reinforcing materials and binders are uniformly distributed regardless the difference of length or diameter of the reinforcing materials, and a volume ratio of the reinforcing materials is exactly controlled. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preparing a ceramic preform comprises: a) a mold(21) having a cavity for receiving a ceramic preform composition(23); b) a pressurizing device(22) for pressurizing the ceramic preform composition positioned at the cavity which is detachably attached to the top of the cavity; c) a filter(24) for supporting the ceramic preform composition and passing water from the ceramic preform composition which is detachably attached to the bottom of the mold; d) a support plate(32) for supporting the mold, pressurizing device and filter detachably attached to the bottom of the filter in which multiple pores(31) are formed for easily discharging the water passed out of the filter; and e) a bottom bucket(37) having a connecting passage(35) for inducing vacuum pressure generated by an outer vacuum pressure generating device in order to apply vacuum pressure which is driving force for discharging the water from the ceramic preform composition and a draining pipe(34) for discharging the water removed from the ceramic preform to the outside which is detachably attached to the bottom of the support plate for supporting the mold, pressurizing device, filter and support plate.
