Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An optical fiber amplifier is provided to be capable of obtaining a constant gain regardless of a variation of a channel number or of an input signal per a channel. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber amplifier comprises an input optical signal separating part(200) which separates an input optical signal power detection signal for detecting the strength of an input optical signal and a transfer optical signal for transferring an optical signal from an inputted optical signal. An optical signal amplifier(210) amplifies the transfer optical signal from the input optical signal separating part(200) in response to a control signal. An output optical signal separating part(220) separates an output optical signal power detection signal for detecting the strength of the transfer optical signal and an optical signal, from the transfer optical signal from the optical signal amplifier(210). An optical signal gain controller(230) calculates the strength of the inputted optical signal from the input power detection signal, and calculates the strength of the output optical signal using previously stored gain information and the calculated strength of the input optical signal.
