Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A method for spreading channels of a mobile communication system is provided to minimize interference between spreading codes of an orthogonal transmission diversity structure and to minimize interference between users when an overlay is generated in a carrier of a multi-carrier system, by considering the orthogonal transmission diversity structure and the multi-carrier system to use a quasi-orthogonal code. CONSTITUTION: A method for spreading channels of a code division multiple access(CDMA) communication system, comprises the steps of: receiving a code index to generate a tetrad quasi-orthogonal code mask; generating a tetrad Walsh-orthogonal code; adding the tetrad quasi-orthogonal code mask to the Walsh-orthogonal code to generate a tetrad quasi-orthogonal code; and converting the tetrad quasi-orthogonal code to generate quasi-orthogonal codes of a real number unit and an imaginary number unit.
