Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to save the processing cost of the secondary battery and decrease the fraction defective of the secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: In a secondary battery of the present invention, a cathode is connected to an inside of a can(20) by insulting an electrode roll(22) in which a anode, a separator, and the cathode are wound in together, an opening of the can(20) is sealed by a cam assembly(24) to which the anode is welded. An insulating plate(26b) of a disc type have the same diameter as an inner diameter of the can(20) is positioned between a lower part of the electrode roll(22) and a lower surface of the can(20). Accordingly, the unit cost for production is saved because of decreasing the number of process step for manufacturing the insulating plate(26b), and the fraction defective of the secondary battery is largely decreased.
