Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A cutting method is provided to produce a panel having large area of a cell from a base glass substrate having limited size and to reduce the number of times for cutting. CONSTITUTION: A coating line(104) and a predetermined cutting line(102) are formed on a base plate for producing a liquid crystal display panel. An interval(l15) is set up between the two lines. The two faces of the base glass plate for forming a thin film transistor substrate exposes a wire connected to a driving circuit for the input and the output of external signals. The other base glass plate facing to one base plate is cut to have larger area. A laser beam is irradiated along the predetermined cutting line to heat the line at a certain temperature. A cooling agent is dispersed along the heated line to cut by diffusing a crack generating toward the inner surface from the outer surface of the predetermined cutting line. Thereby, a smooth cut-surface is obtained.
