SAFETY APPARATUS FOR EARLY DETECTION OF ELEVATOR WIRE DISCONNECTION

PURPOSE: A safety apparatus for early detection of elevator wire disconnection is provided to achieve an increased safety for passengers while arranging a safety device to be stopped simultaneously with a disconnection of a wire rope of the elevator thus stopping the elevator. CONSTITUTION: A safety apparatus comprises a spring which extends upon disconnection of a wirerope to push portion "a" forward so as to form a circuit as being contact "b", a magnet switch(c) which opens to turn off a motor power so as to stop the operation of motor, an emergency switch(d) installed to be operated within the elevator and which shuts off the power of magnet switch(c) when pressed, a motor supplied with power when the switch(c) is turned off so that a passenger operates the switch(d) arranged inside of the elevator car until he/she reaches safety area, the switch(d) being returned to a state where its contact is connected so as to allow the magnet switch(c) to be supplied with power thus turning off motor power.
