METHOD FOR SEARCHING BASE STATION CODE IN MOBILE STATION

PURPOSE: A method for searching a base station code in a mobile station is provided to remove a timing tracer and active correlators in a searcher, by using finger functions of a mobile station receiver to perform an initial code searching process. CONSTITUTION: Many fingers of a mobile station receiver has a searcher, a timing tracer, and many active correlators. Each of channel paths are allocated by the searcher. The fingers continuously trace path timings, and estimate a channel phase to demodulate path signals. A method for searching a base station code comprises the steps of: performing an initial timing, and searching a timing of a main path signal received as biggest power; controlling the timing tracer of fingers to continuously trace the timing of the main path signal in the timing tracer; controlling the active correlators in the fingers, and searching the base station code received according to traced timing information of a main path in the timing tracer.
