Zusammenfassung:X-ray radiation detector (10) has a fibre optic face plate (18) contg. individual fibre optics and having a x-ray incident side and another side. Array (12) of phosphor pixels (11) is on the x-ray incidence side of the fibre optic network (18). Array (16) of pixelised sensors (15) is optically coupled to the other side of optical fibre network (18). The ratio of the surface area of a phosphor pixel (12) to the surface area of the sensor pixel (15) is in the range of about 1:2.19 to 1:4. The ratio of the surface area of the core of each individual optical fibre (17) of the fibre optic network (18) to the surface area of a phosphor pixel (11) is in the range of about 1:4 to 1:160.
