The apparatus for isolating a nucleic acid includes: a body formed to allow a biological sample to pass therethrough from the upper end to the lower end thereof; and an absorption layer provided inside the body and absorbing an inhibitor which is contained in the sample and inhibits PCR, wherein when the sample passes through the body, the inhibitor is absorbed into the absorption layer and a nucleic acid is discharged through the lower part of the body.
