Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for driving an air preheater to prevent contact between a rotor and a sector plate during operation of the air preheater. The apparatus for driving an air preheater according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a lifting unit for raising and lowering a sector plate installed above a rotor in the air preheater; a rotor drive motor for rotating the rotor about a rotation axis; and a controller for measuring a driving current of the rotor drive motor for rotating the rotor and driving the lifting unit in response to the measured driving current to raise and lower the sector plate. 본 발명은 공기예열기의 동작시 로터와 섹터플레이트가 접촉되는 것을 방지하기 위한 공기예열기의 구동장치 및 구동방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 공기예열기의 구동장치는, 공기예열기에서 로터의 상부에 설치된 섹터플레이트를 승강시키는 승강부; 상기 로터를 회전축을 중심으로 회전시키는 로터구동모터; 및 상기 로터를 회전시키기 위한 상기 로터구동모터의 구동전류를 측정하고 상기 구동전류 측정값에 대응하여 상기 승강부를 구동시켜 상기 섹터플레이트를 승강시키는 컨트롤러를 포함한다
