| Zusammenfassung: | The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for preparing diiodosilane that can be massively produced and is capable of improving storage stability, yield and/or purity, and a composition prepared thereby. To this end, a method for preparing diiodosilane and a composition prepared thereby are disclosed. The method for preparing diiodosilane comprises: a step for obtaining a first mixture including diiodosilane by making iodine (I_2), phenylsilane and ethyl acetate (EA) react; a step for obtaining a second mixture by distilling the first mixture including the diiodosilane to remove by-products; a step for refining by adding copper powder to the second mixture; and a step for separating diiodosilane using a distillation method.
