Zusammenfassung: | The present invention provides a continuous casting apparatus of a steel material by controlling widthwise soft reduction. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the continuous casting apparatus of a steel material comprises: a first thickness sensor unit for measuring first widthwise thickness of a continuous cast slab at a plurality of locations and generating a feed-forward signal for the first widthwise thickness; a slab soft reduction unit for performing widthwise soft reduction of the slab; and a second thickness sensor unit for measuring second widthwise thickness of the slab subjected to soft reduction by the slab soft reduction unit at a plurality of locations and generating a feedback signal for the second widthwise thickness, wherein the slab soft reduction unit receives the feed-forward signal from the first thickness sensor unit and the feedback signal from the second thickness sensor unit to control the widthwise soft reduction of the slab. In accordance with the present invention, before soft reduction of a slab is performed, a widthwise thickness profile is measured by using a laser sensor in real time and after the soft reduction of the slab is performed, a widthwise thickness profile is measured again by using a sensor roll in real time, thereby enabling soft reduction to be uniformly performed in a widthwise direction of a slab.
