Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to an energy storage system (ESS) which is capable of charging power through a converter regardless of whether the power produced in various kinds of generators including an emergency generator as well as a renewable energy generator such as a photovoltaic power generator, a wind power generator, a small hydro power generator, a tidal power generator, a geothermal power generator, and the like, is alternating current or a direct current, which is capable of simultaneously performing charging and discharging since a power conversion system (PCS) is configured to be used only for discharging, and which is capable of charging even a power system through a converter, thereby being operated by on-grid and off-grid. The PCS is used for discharging, and a converter is configured by separating a charging function of the PCS. In addition, the converter receives direct current and alternating current without distinction and converts the alternating current into direct current to be charged. 본 발명은 태양광 발전기, 풍력 발전기, 소수력 발전기, 조력 발전기, 지열 발전기 등의 신재생 에너지 발전기는 물론이고 비상 발전기를 포함한 다양한 종류의 발전기에서 생산한 전력이 교류이든 직류이든 구분없이 컨버터를 통해 충전할 수 있음은 물론이고, PCS(Power Conversion System)는 방전을 위해서만 사용되게 구성하여, 충전 및 방전을 동시에 수행할 수 있으며, 전력계통도 컨버터를 통해 충전할 수 있어서, ON-Grid 및 OFF-Grid로 운용할 수 있는 에너지 저장 장치(ESS:Energy Storage System)에 관한 것으로서, PCS는 방전을 위해 사용하고, PCS의 충전 기능은 분리하여 컨버터를 구성하며, 컨버터는 직류 전력과 교류 전력을 구분없이 입력받아 직류 전력으로 변환하여 충전하게 한다.
