Zusammenfassung:	According to the present invention, disclosed is a non-smoking area monitoring system which includes a smoking sensor for sensing cigarette smoke generated in a non-smoking area, a smoking warning unit for transmitting warning information to a smoker in the non-smoking area, a tag reader for reading a wireless tag including identification information of the smoker, and a control unit for operating the smoking warning unit according to a sensing result of the smoking sensor and applying a control signal for reading the identification information of the smoker to the tag reader if a smoking state is continued for a preset time after the smoking warning unit is operated, and a method for detecting smoking in a non-smoking area using the same. Accordingly, the present invention can implement a management system to automate monitoring, regulating, and billing. 본 발명은 금연구역 내에서 발생하는 담배 연기를 감지하는 흡연 센서와, 금연구역 내의 흡연자에게 경보 정보를 송출하는 흡연 경보기와, 흡연자의 신원 정보가 포함된 무선 태그를 판독하기 위한 태그 리더와, 상기 흡연 센서의 감지 결과에 따라 상기 흡연 경보기를 작동시키며 상기 흡연 경보기의 작동 후 기설정된 시간동안 흡연 상태의 지속시 상기 태그 리더에 흡연자의 신원 정보를 읽어들이기 위한 제어 신호를 인가하는 제어부를 포함하는 금연구역 모니터링 시스템 및 및 이를 이용한 금연구역 내 흡연 적발 방법을 개시한다.
