Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to a gateway server system for providing continuity of a connection between a control server and a vehicle terminal in a 3G or LTE wireless network, and also relates to a method for controlling the gateway server system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a gateway server system for providing continuity of a connection between a control server and a vehicle terminal in a 3G or LTE wireless network, which can detect an interruption adapted to occur in a connection for data communication with a currently connected control server or adapted to be caused by a change in an IP address of a vehicle terminal during handoff between wireless base stations attributable to movement of a vehicle, which can reestablish the connection, and which can resume the data communication, thereby maintaining continuity of the connection. For this purpose, according to the present invention, provided is the gateway server system for providing continuity of a connection between a control server and a vehicle terminal in a 3G or LTE wireless network, i.e., a network system for providing a connection between a control server and at least one vehicle terminal in a 3G or LTE wireless network including the vehicle terminal capable of communicating with the control server, the gateway server system comprising a gateway server which enables the at least one moving vehicle terminal and the control server to communicate with each other over the 3G or LTE wireless network, which assigns a reserved connectable IP address to the vehicle terminal in response to a request for a change in connection information for an IP address of the vehicle terminal during handoff attributable to transition between base stations for the vehicle terminal, and which changes the connection information based on a new IP address of the vehicle terminal via the assigned reserved IP address and a port, so the connection between the vehicle terminal and the control server can be continuously maintained in an IP address-based communication environment. Furthermore, also provided is the method for controlling the gateway server system. Accordingly, a connection between the vehicle terminal and the control server can be continuously maintained.
