Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to an alloy steel used for a constant-velocity joint outer wheel for vehicles, which shows improvement of tensile strength and impact strength by adding alloying elements and optimization of a heat-treatment process and to a method of preparing the same. To resolve existing technical issues, provided is an alloy steel containing iron (Fe) as a main component, with respect to the total weight of the alloy steel, 0.05-0.60 wt% of carbon (C), 0.15-0.35 wt% of silicon (Si), 0.4 - 0.8 wt% of manganese (Mn), more than 0 wt% and 0.03 wt% or less of phosphorus (P), 0-0.035 wt% of sulfur (S) excluding 0 wt%, more than 0 wt% and less than 0.03 wt% of copper (Cu), more than 0 wt% and less 0.00002 wt% of oxygen (O), and inevitable impurities. 본 발명은 차량용 등속조인트의 외륜에 사용되는 합금강과 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 합금원소를 추가하고 그것의 열처리과정을 최적화함으로써 인장강도와 충격강도를 향상시키는 효과를 내는 합금강 및 그의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.상술한 종래기술의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 본 발명에 의하면, Fe(철)를 주성분으로 하며, 전체 합금강 중량에 대하여 C(탄소) 0.50 ~ 0.60 중량%, Si(규소) 0.15 ~ 0.35 중량%, Mn(망가니즈) 0.4 ~ 0.8 중량%, P(인) 0중량% 초과 0.03중량%이하, S(황) 0중량% 초과 0.035 중량% 이하, Cu(구리) 0 중량% 초과 0.3 중량% 미만, O(산소) 0중량% 초과 0.00002 중량% 이하 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 합금강을 제공한다.
