SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING ARCTIC SEA ICE CONCENTRATION

The present invention relates to weather forecast and the estimation of sea ice concentration, in which an Arctic sea ice concentration (SIC) and an Arctic sea ice extent can be exactly estimated before four months. According to the embodiments of the present invention, a system for estimating arctic sea ice concentration includes: an observed data storing unit, an absorbed solar radiation (ARS) data calculation unit, and a sea ice concentration (SIC) estimation modeling unit. The observed data storing unit stores the past SIC observation data, total-sky albedo observation data, and incident solar radiation observation data. The ARS data calculation unit calculates past ARS data based on the past total-sky albedo observation data, and the past incident solar radiation observation data. The SIC estimation modeling unit calculates SIC estimation data based on a rare model, which has parameters determined to fit the past ARS data and the past SIC observation data, and the ARS data. 본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 북극해 해빙 면적비 예측 시스템은 과거의 해빙 면적비(Sea Ice Concentration, SIC) 관측 데이터, 전천 알베도(total-sky albedo) 관측 데이터 및 태양 복사 입사량 관측 데이터를 저장하는 관측 데이터 저장부, 과거의 전천 알베도 관측 데이터 및 태양 복사 입사량 관측 데이터로부터 과거의 태양 복사 흡수량(Absorbed Solar Radiation, ASR) 데이터를 산출하는 ASR 데이터 산출부 및 과거의 ASR 데이터 및 과거의 SIC 관측 데이터를 피팅(fitting)하도록 파라미터들이 결정된 회귀 모델과 ASR 데이터로부터 SIC 예측 데이터를 산출하는 SIC 예측 모델링부를 포함할 수 있다.
