APPARATUS FOR TRACKING THE OBJECTS IN SURVEILLANCE CAMERA SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

An object tracking apparatus of a monitoring camera system according to the present invention comprises: a pre-processing unit for separating characteristic points of an interesting object from a background by extracting the characteristic points from a three-dimensional coordinate image, when compressed videos inputted through a video input unit is restored to three-dimensional coordinate videos; an object recognition unit for removing noise in accordance with weather and ambient light changes, and applying a corrected value to a video by tracking the state change of the video; a filter unit for tracking the interesting object by applying a sensitive Kalman filter; and a control unit for reflecting tracking data related to the interesting object to a video edited in accordance with a predetermined video composition procedure of a video junction system in order to measure the traffic in a specific section or analyze the causes of a vehicle accident. The present invention is expected to be applied to a computer vision system which replaces a role of a human by automatically sensing and tracking the movement of an object in an environment where there are not many moving objects, in case of a real-time monitoring system. In case of an intelligent video sensing system, the intelligent video sensing system can be applied to correspond to a real-time unexpected situation by determining the movement of the object and tracking the movement of the object. In addition, the present invention can: analyze a driving pattern (or behavior pattern) of the interesting object generated on the matched video space by reflecting tracking data related to the interesting object to the matched video; and be used in various fields such as traffic control, pattern analysis by determining the moving line of a user within a store or an exhibition center, and the like.
