APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ABNORMAL MMS MESSAGE IN 4G MOBILE NETWORK

The present invention relates to an abnormal Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message detecting apparatus and method. The abnormal message detecting apparatus includes: a session information storage unit storing a first GTP-U TEID and session information including a first user equipment identification number; a packet information extracting unit extracting a second GTP-U TEID from a header of a GTP-U packet, extracting an MMS message from a payload of the GTP-U packet, and extracting a second user equipment identification number from the MMS message; and a packet processing unit blocking the GTP-U packet when the first and second GTP-U TEIDS are identical but the first and second user equipment identification numbers are not identical, and transmitting the GTP-U packet when there is not the first GTP-U TEID that is identical to the second GTP-U TEID in the session information.
