Zusammenfassung:	A method and an apparatus for the elimination of traffic redundancy in a wireless network are disclosed. The method for the elimination of the traffic redundancy comprises the following steps: receiving a packet; analyzing the packet to find redundant chunks; if the redundant chunks exist, calculating a probability of overhearing of a target terminal using the redundant chunks and a channel state of the target terminal; eliminating the redundant chunks and encoding the packet according to the calculated probability of overhearing; and transmitting the encoded packet to the target terminal.
