Zusammenfassung:	According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a shift lever assembly of an automatic transmission, which is handled by a vehicle driver and controls operations of the automatic transmission transferring torque outputted from an engine as the number of rotations required by the driver, and which comprises: a housing having a space inside and an outer circumferential surface on which transmission line is displayed; a shift lever having a stick shape, arranged to pass through the housing and to move along the transmission line; a light emitting unit arranged at the bottom end of the shift lever; a plurality of photo sensors outputting a corresponding signal by receiving light outputted from the light emitting unit; and a control unit outputting a transmission control signal corresponding to the photo sensor outputting the signal among the photo sensors. According to the present invention, the number of components required for connection of the shift lever and the automatic transmission can be reduced since an operation state of the automatic transmission can be sensed by the photo sensors.
