METHOD FOR MONITORING AND DIAGNOSING FAILURE OF PHOTOVOLTAIC STRING

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring and diagnosing the failure of a solar cell array comprising a plurality of solar cell strings to which a plurality of solar cells are connected in series. The method for monitoring and diagnosing the failure of a solar cell string comprises sequentially detecting first current and second current with respect to a plurality of strings in a solar cell array at a predetermined time interval; detecting current change amount of each string with respect to the strings; setting a first string as a failure candidate if the current change amount of the first string among the strings is greater than a preset current threshold; and monitoring the first string by measuring open-circuit voltage of the first string once the solar cell array is driven for generating solar power.
