Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to a speeding monitoring and crackdown system using a number recognition technology and, more specifically, to a speeding monitoring and crackdown system capable of efficiently performing a crackdown by measuring the speed of a vehicle only when the vehicle is determined as the same object based on the moving trace and pattern data of the vehicle recognized through the number recognition technology. A speeding monitoring method using the number recognition technology according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring a plurality of images including a first vehicle through a camera as time elapses; recognizing at least part of the entire data about the license plate area of the first vehicle included in each image as time elapses; detecting the license plate area of the first vehicle included in each image using the recognition result; extracting a unique feature point of the license plate area of the first vehicle included in each image as time elapses; calculating a first speed of the first vehicle using a change to the position of the feature point as time elapses; and determining whether the first vehicle is speeding depending on whether the first speed is equal to or greater than a predefined speed. The entire data about the license plate area includes type data, purpose data, and identification data of the vehicle, and the feature point is the center of mass of the license plate area. Using the license plate recognition result and the feature point, it is possible to determine whether the first vehicle is the same object.
