IMAGE NORMALIZATION METHOD AND APPARATUS BY USING FUZZY-BASED RETINEX

PURPOSE: An image normalization method using fuzzy based retinex and a device thereof are provided to perform modeling by using only the average and the standard deviation of an image, thereby reducing modeling time and the complexity. CONSTITUTION: An image input unit (110) receives a normalization object input image. An image information calculation unit (120) normalizes the input image to the size of a unit image and calculates the uniformity of the input image based on normalized images. A filtering adjustment value calculation unit (130) calculates a filtering adjustment value setting a filtering degree for the input image by using the uniformity of the input image. A filtering unit (140) filters the input image with the filtering adjustment value and generates an output image. The uniformity of the input image is calculated by using the brightness of the input image and includes the average and the standard deviation of the input image.
