RECHARGEABLE MULT COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A quick chargeable multi communication device and a method controlling the same perform a data communication function as well as a charging function by determining the type and charging availability of a device connected through a USB port. CONSTITUTION: A quick charging unit (200) supplies power for quick charging to an external chargeable device through a port unit (100). A USB host (300) communicates with the device connected through the port unit and requests a switching between a communication mode and a charging mode of the device. Upon the switching request from the USB host, a CPU (400) decides which mode to be selected for the device and determines whether the external device can be charged or not. Controlled by the CPU, a switch unit (500) controls the access of the port unit to the quick charging unit and the USB host.
