ELECTRODE HOLDING APPARATUS FOR ELECTRIC FURNACE

PURPOSE: An electrode rod holding apparatus for an electric furnace is provided to easily attach or detach a cylinder by employing an elastic member installed between a holder body and the cylinder. CONSTITUTION: An electrode rod holding apparatus for an electric furnace comprises a holder(10), an arm(20), a post(30), and an insulating unit(40). The position or/and angle of the longitudinal lines(L) of the arm and the holder are arranged separately from each other. A cylinder for driving the holder is coupled near the backside of the holder. The holder is coupled to a bent end of the arm. The arm is made of a soft metal material and has an internal cooling channel. The cylinder is inserted into the holder, and an elastic member is installed between the cylinder and the holder so that the cylinder is automatically separated backward when released from the holder. The insulating unit comprises an insulating pad installed between the post and the arm, a fastening member passing through the post, the insulating pad, and the arm, and an insulating member installed on the outer surface of the fastening member contacting the arm and the post.
