Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Catalpa ovate and Hibiscus syriacus extract is provided to ensure antibacterial activity without toxicity and to prevent and treat atopic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating atopic dermatitis contains mixture of Hibiscus syriacus stem or root extract and Hibiscus syriacus stem or root extract as an active ingredient. The extract is a 1,2-pentandiol or 1,5-pentandiol extract containing 30-70 (v/v)% of water. A functional cosmetic product contains the composition as an active ingredient. The functional cosmetic product is used in the form of nutrition lotion, nutrition essence, massage cream, or foaming formulation.
