MULTIPLE ANTENNA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING ADAPTIVE UPDATING AND CHANGING OF CODEBOOKS

A multi-antenna communication system for adaptively updating or changing a codebook is provided to improve the total data transmission rate of an MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) system by using the codebook updated in consideration of the change pattern of statistical feature of a channel between a base station and a terminal. A codebook update unit(120) adaptively updates the previous codebook based on the change of a channel corresponding to the elapse of time. A base station(200) can transmit a plurality of pilot signals to a mobile station(100) through a plurality of transmission(201). Through the pilot signals, by estimating a channel from the base station to the mobile station, the terminal generates a channel matrix. A codeword selector(130) selects one or more codeword matrices from the second codeword matrices included in the second codebook.
