APPARATUS FOR IDENTIFYING ARTICLE USING RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION AND METHOD THEREOF

A device and a method for identifying an article with RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) are provided to facilitate driving of a forklift by vertically installing and moving a receiver recognizing an RFID tag, and improve a recognition ratio of a plurality of RFID tags by recognizing the RFID tags continuously while the receiver is vertically moved. An RFID tag(210) stores information of an article. A receiver(220) recognizes the RFID tag, is installed under the ground, and is vertically moved. An RFID reader(230) reads the RFID tag recognized by the receiver. A sensor(240) detects location and speed information of the article. A driver(250) drives the receiver vertically and a controller(260) controls the driver. The controller lifts up the receiver on the ground by controlling the driver and the receiver recognizes the RFID tag during lifting when the detected location/speed information of the article is corresponding to information for a location recognizable to the receiver.
