A METHOD FOR COMPOSITION MANUFACTURING HAVING MULTIPLICATION SUPPRESSION CAPABILITY OF HARMFUL MICROBE FROM LITHOSPERMUM ERYTHROHIZON AND THE COMPOSITION

A composition comprising the extract of Lithospermum erythrorhizon is provided to inhibit growth of harmful bacteria, maintain freshness of food, increase storage period and circulation period of food, and treat acnes by inhibiting growth of acne-causing bacteria. A method for manufacturing a composition for inhibiting growth of harmful bacteria comprises the steps of: (a) dipping dried Lithospermum erythrorhizon in organic solvent to extract shikonin derivatives from Lithospermum erythrorhizon; (b) mixing the organic solvent containing shikonin derivatives with silica gel to adsorb the shikonin derivatives to silica gel; (c) drying the shikonin derivative-adsorbed silica gel to remove organic solvent; (d) adding petroleum ether to the silica gel, and shaking and filtering the silica gel to remove impurities; and (e) adding ether into the silica gel, and shaking and filtering the solution, wherein the organic solvent is ethylacetate or alcohol. Further, an organic solvent mixed in the extract of Lithospermum erythrorhizon is selected from a group consisting of ethyl acetate or spirit.
