Zusammenfassung:A method for producing a transition metal doped titanate nanotube is provided to form a nanotube of ultrafine structure with increased specific surface area and to be usable as a hydrogen storage medium and a storage medium of a lithium secondary battery. A method for producing a transition metal doped titanate nanotube comprises the steps of: preparing transition metal doped rutile phase TiO2 powders; reacting the TiO2 powders in an aqueous solution of strong alkaline compound to form titanate of a layered structure, containing metal ingredients of the strong alkaline compound; heating the titanate to convert the titanate of a layered structure into the titanate of a nanotube structure; washing the titanate of a nanotube structure with an aqueous solution of strong alkaline compound to remove the metal ingredients of the strong alkaline compound therefrom; and drying the washed resultant to obtain a transition metal doped titanate nanotube. Further, an average granularity of the transition metal doped TiO2 powders is 20 nm or less.
