L2 SWITCH EMERGENCY RECOVERY SUPPORT SYSTEM AND METHOD

A system for supporting emergent recovery of an L2 switch and a method thereof are provided to apply easily TFTP(Trivial File Transfer Protocol) configuration information to a preliminary switch when exchanging L2 switches. A system for supporting emergent recovery of an L2 switch comprises a preliminary switch(50) and an emergent recovery setup terminal(40). The preliminary switch(50) makes a fixed IP of an in-house network allocated by accessing the in-house network as a switch used in case that exchanging the L2 switches is necessary, downloads TFTP configuration information for a target L2 switch, and performs a function of the L2 switch when the L2 switches are exchanged. The emergent recovery setup terminal(40) accesses a backup server, stores and manages the TFTP configuration information for each L2 switch stored by the backup server, executes an emergent L2 recovery program when the L2 switches are exchanged, and downloads the TFTP configuration information for the target L2 switch to the preliminary switch connected to the in-house network.
