SUCTION/DISCHARGE FLAP STRUCTURE OF ROOM AIR CONDITIONER

A suction/discharge flap structure of an indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to simultaneously open or close an inlet and an outlet at the same side by driving corresponding suction/discharge flaps with a single flap driving unit, and to maintain the structures of the suction/discharge flaps without distortion when opened and closed. A suction/discharge flap structure of an indoor unit of an air conditioner includes right and left suction/discharge flaps(43,47) mounted on right and left suction/discharge frames(41,45), respectively, for opening or closing air inlets/outlets, wherein the right and the left suction/discharge flaps are driven by a single flap driving unit. The flap driving unit has a flap driving motor(54) mounted on the suction flap frame, a pinion gear(53) connected to an output of the flap driving motor, a suction flap driving gear(43-1) mounted on the suction frame and engaged with the pinion gear, and a discharge flap driving gear(51) mounted on the discharge flap and engaged with the suction flap driving gear. A discharge grill is mounted on the discharge flap for guiding discharged air flow and serving as a safety net for protecting internal parts.
